Explore Namibia on Horseback

Ride through mountains, desert dunes and endless savannah on a multi-day western riding adventure.

The adventure of a lifetime

Ranch Koiimasis lies in the Tiras Mountains on the edge of the Namib Desert - one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Africa. From the saddle of a well-trained Western horse, you’ll explore vast open spaces, ancient bushman sites, cattle herds and the red dunes of the oldest desert in the world.

This ride is for experienced riders; it's not a beginner tour. You should be comfortable riding for several hours per day and able to ride in all gaits.

Key points:

  • Up to 7 hours in the saddle per day

  • Long trots and canters in open terrain

  • Weight limit: 90 kg

  • Small groups of max. 4 riders

You don’t need western riding experience - trust in your horse and guide is what matters most.

Accomodation & food

We offer three unique ways to experience the ranch, ensuring you find the perfect balance of adventure and comfort:

  • The Adventure Village: Stay in our newly built "Village," featuring comfortable double rooms and shared external bathrooms. This is the heart of our social life - the perfect gathering spot for traditional barbecues and long, storytelling nights around the campfire.

  • The Schwabelnnest: Ideal for couples seeking a bit more privacy, this suite features a comfortable double bed and a private en-suite bathroom (available for an additional charge).

  • The Fest Inn Fels Lodge: For those seeking a touch of desert luxury, our lodge offers four exclusive chalets with private outdoor terraces. Guests here also enjoy access to our original rock restaurant, a refreshing pool with a sun deck, and our famous "Sky Bar."

Dining

We gather in the Adventure Village for meals, where our ranch cook prepares hearty dishes designed to satisfy every "cowboy and cowgirl" heart. We warmly welcome vegetarians! Please just let us know your preferences or any food allergies in advance so we can prepare accordingly.

Travel informations

To ensure a smooth transition from the airport to the wilderness, please keep the following timing in mind:

  • Arriving in Namibia: You will fly into Windhoek (Hosea Kutako International Airport), where we will meet you for your transfer.

    • Important: If your flight lands after 2:00 PM, please book one night of accommodation in Windhoek, as we cannot start the long drive to the ranch late in the day.

  • Heading Home: On your departure day, we recommend booking a return flight that leaves after 6:00 PM. If your flight is earlier, please plan for one final night in Windhoek to ensure you don’t miss your connection.

We highly recommend spending one night in Windhoek both before and after your ranch stay. It’s the best way to relax, adjust to the climate, and ensure your travel remains stress-free. Need help finding a place to stay in Windhoek? Just ask - we’re happy to provide recommendations!
